‘Legendary’ Oscar-Nominated Hudson Valley, New York Native Dies
An Oscar-nominated Hudson Valley native has passed away.

The Hollywood director and actor passed away at the age of 82 shortly after midnight at his home in Los Angeles.
"Our dearest Peter passed away today from complications of Parkinson’s disease,” his family said in a statement, obtained by the Hollywood Reporter. “The Bogdanovich/Stratten family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support in this most difficult time.”
Bogdanovich was born in 1939 in Kingston.
He's probably best known for directing works including "The Last Picture Show," "What’s up Doc," and "Paper Moon."
In 1971, "The Last Picture Show" earned eight Oscar awards including Best Director.
As an actor, he was known for many roles including "The Sopranos."
Bogdanovich was also honored at the Woodstock Film Festival in 2013.
"Legendary director, producer, actor, writer, and artist Peter Bogdanovich was given the Honorary Maverick Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's gala," the Woodstock Film Festival wrote about Bogdanvich in 2013.
He was 82-years-old.
