Oben Rorr Electric Bike Launched; 150kms Range, 100kmph Top Speed
Oben Electric, Bengaluru-based start-up has launched the Rorr electric motorcycle at Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, India including FAME 11 subsidy). The motorcycle can be bought as low as Rs 99,999, which includes state subsidies.
The Oben Rorr is one of the sportiest electric motorcycles currently on sale in India. It features a permanent magnet motor that produces 10kW peak output and 4kW continuous output. The motorcycle offers 62Nm of torque.The power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a belt drive system with a single-stage reduction.
Oben Rorr electric motorcycle is claimed to achieve a top speed of 100kmph and 0-40kmph acceleration in just 3.0 seconds. However, new age electric scooters – Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X also offers similar top speed and acceleration.
It is fitted with a 4.4kWh fixed battery pack, which is an LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) battery. This battery pack is claimed to be more advanced compared to the lithium-ion batteries. The battery is claimed to be fully charged in just 2 hours. It is using a 15A power socket, and this system will be installed at owner’s residence at no extra cost.
The Oben Rorr electric motorcycle offers 3 riding modes – Eco, City and Havoc – offering top speed of 50kmph, 70kmph and 100kmph respectively. The Eco variant is claimed to have a rear-world range of 150km, while the City and Havoc offers 120km and 100km range respectively.
The electric motorcycle also gets ‘smart’ and ‘connected’ features, which includes Bluetooth connectivity and a companion application. The motorcycle features a trellis frame that accommodates the battery pack. It features a telescopic fork at the front and monoshock at the rear. It rides on 17-inch wheels and get disc brakes at both ends.
