Will insulating your windows with cling film REALLY cut your energy bills? Plus 5 more energy saving tricks
E.ON is offering free installation for British households this winter - and you don't even have to be a customer to benefit.
The insulation – which is worth around £775 per household based on figures by the Energy Saving Trust – is being offered for free to all homeowners, landlords and private tenants who have their landlord’s permission.
But there a few catches.
It's a limited offer and E.on reserves itself the right to withdraw the deal at anytime, which means you'll have to be quick to avoid being disappointed.
The offer also excludes housing association or council tenants, flats and maisonettes.
To see if you qualify for free insulation or if the offer has been amended you need to visit eoninstall.com.
You may also be eligible to free insulation if you're under the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) scheme, according to consumer group Which?.The ECO scheme means that gas and electricity suppliers with more than 250,000 household customers - including British Gas, EDF Energy, Eon, Npower, SSE and Scottish Power - are obliged to help households with energy efficiency measures.
